BUTTERSCOTCH LOAF


1/4 CUP BUTTER
1 CUP DARK BROWN SUGAR, FIRMLY PACKED
1 EGG
1 TBS. VANILLA EXTRACT
2 CUPS ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
2 TSP. BAKING POWDER
1 TSP. BAKING SODA
1/2 TSP. SALT
1 CUP BUTTERMILK
FOR A MORE REALISTIC FLAVOR ADD 1 TSP. SCOTCH

PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 FAH DEGREES
CREAM BUTTER AND SUGAR TOGETHER.
STIR IN EGG AND FLAVORINGS(VANILLA AND SCOTCH).
COMBINE DRY INGREDIENTS AND ADD TO CREAMED MIXTURE.
ADD BUTTERMILK AND MIX WELL.
POUR BATTER IN TO A GREASED AND FLOURED LOAF PAN.
BAKE FOR 1 HOUR.
MAKES 1 LOAF.
